What does a glazier do?

Glaziers are responsible for selecting, cutting, installing, replacing, and removing all types of glass on residential and commercial construction projects.

Residential glazing may involve:

  • Replacing glass in home windows
  • Installing glass mirrors
  • Shower doors
  • Bathtub enclosures 
  • Fitting glass for tabletops and display cases

A glazier may install heavy, etched or decorative room dividers or security windows and replace storefront windows.  A glazier may consult blueprints and specifications.
